Other relevant registries

Here you will find information about other registries that are considered relevant.

The Entity Register
The information provided by Charity Monitoring Norway is consistent with the Entity Register.

The Business Register coordinates information about the business sector and government agencies that is found in various public registers and that is frequently requested on questionnaires. Instead of each government agency sending out its own form to businesses, the Unit Register ensures that the information is collected in one place. The Unit Register contains basic data on entities that are required to register in the NAV Aa Register, the Value-Added Tax Register, the Business Register, Statistics Norway’s Business Register, the Norwegian Tax Administration’s Register of Non-Personal Taxpayers, or the Foundation Register. In addition, the Bankruptcy Register is an affiliated register. All bankruptcy estates are registered and assigned an organization number in the Central Business Register.

The Volunteer Registry
The Volunteer Registry was established at the initiative of volunteer organizations. The registry is intended to improve and simplify cooperation between volunteer organizations and public authorities. The registry is also intended to ensure the collection of systematic information that can strengthen the legal basis for and knowledge of volunteer activities and facilitate public policy toward the volunteer sector. Systematic information will provide a better foundation for statistics and research in this field.

The Register of Business Enterprises
The Register of Business Enterprises is responsible for registering all Norwegian and foreign businesses in Norway. The register is intended to ensure legal protection and provide an overview of the business landscape, and serves as an important source of information for anyone who needs accurate details about entities in the Norwegian business sector. All business entities—whether with limited or unlimited liability—are required to register with the Business Register. The same applies to sole proprietorships that engage in the sale of purchased goods or have more than five full-time employees. Other sole proprietorships may register on a voluntary basis.
