There are two categories of approved organizations:

Provisionally approved:
An organization that is provisionally approved has applied for approval — and submitted financial statements/a budget, and can provide proof of an auditor or a letter of intent from an auditor stating that the financial statements will henceforth be audited in accordance with the Norwegian Accounting Standard for Good Accounting Practice for Nonprofit Organizations.

Approved:
In addition to applying for approval, an approved organization has undergone an annual audit of its financial statements and reports. These must be available on the organization’s homepage along with key figures and financial statements.
